A Brief History of the Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce

The Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce has been the voice of the local business community since 1955. Formed by a group of local leaders and entrepreneurs, the Chamber was built on the idea that when businesses work together, the entire community thrives. That collaborative mindset is still the heart of what we do today.

The Chamber is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) business organization, which means we exist solely to support and advocate for our members — not to make a profit. Our mission is to strengthen the economic vitality of the Greater Brighton area through business support, advocacy, and connection.

Over the years, as Brighton grew from a small agricultural town into a dynamic and diverse city, the Chamber grew with it. We’ve helped launch businesses, supported local initiatives, and built strong partnerships across the public and private sectors.

Through the decades, we’ve:

  • Championed pro-business policy and local economic development
  • Hosted networking, education, and leadership events
  • Welcomed hundreds of businesses with ribbon cuttings and grand openings
  • Created opportunities for professional growth and community involvement
  • Served as a connector between businesses, nonprofits, and city leadership

Today, with pride, the Greater Brighton Chamber continues to be a trusted partner for business success. We’re proud of our legacy, and even more energized for what’s ahead.
